Statement

A statement is a per-month summary of one member’s account in one syndicate, grouped and totalled so they can see what was charged, what was credited, and where the balance ended.

It has two kinds of line. The first is a ledger entry: a charge or a credit. The second only appears in an export, and is what cleared those charges — usually a payment, but sometimes a charge an admin waived, or one offset against a credit the member held. Both kinds move the balance, which is why a statement that showed only the first would total every charge the member had ever had and never come down.

Syndik8 generates statements on demand; there is no “close of period” that freezes one. That means corrections posted later appear in the statement for the month they correct, not the month they were posted.

A statement can be exported as a PDF or a CSV over a date range you choose, which is how you share one with an accountant. Exporting needs a connection, because the lines that cleared your charges are read from the server rather than the copy on your device. There is no emailed statement: nothing is sent to you on a schedule, so you export it when you need it.
