Member balance

A member balance is the signed sum of every unpaid transaction on a member’s ledger that has fallen due. It is the one number that answers “what do I owe (or am I owed) in this syndicate right now?”

One thing sits outside it: a cash call whose due date has not arrived. That is money the member has been told about but is not yet being asked for, so it is shown separately as Not due yet and joins the balance on its due date.

A positive balance means the member owes the syndicate money. A negative balance means the syndicate owes the member. Zero is zero. The figure is in the syndicate’s currency. Syndik8 does not add VAT to syndicate charges.

Each syndicate has its own balance. Balances on the home shell aggregates them across every syndicate you belong to.
