Resolve a squawk

Section titled “Resolve a squawk”

Close a squawk once the work is done. Resolved squawks are terminal: the asset’s airworthiness is recalculated, and the squawk no longer counts as active.

Before you start

Section titled “Before you start”
  • You must be an admin.
  • An open or deferred squawk can be resolved. pending squawks must be confirmed first (or dismissed); resolved and dismissed squawks are already terminal.
  • Resolving a grounding squawk restores the asset’s airworthiness (provided no other grounding cause remains, that is, no other open grounding squawk and no overdue maintenance item).

Steps

  1. Open the squawk detail. From an asset detail screen, tap the squawk in the squawk list.
  2. Under Admin Actions, tap Resolve.
  3. Enter Resolution Notes describing how the issue was resolved (what parts, what was done, any sign-off details). For a grounding squawk, including one that has been deferred, the notes are required: they are the record of how the defect that grounded the aircraft was put right. For other squawks they are optional.
  4. Tap Submit to confirm.

You see Squawk resolved. The squawk moves to resolved and the squawk detail screen shows Resolved on: [date] and By: [your name].

If it goes wrong

Section titled “If it goes wrong”

  • “This squawk grounded the aircraft. Say how it was put right before closing it.”: a grounding squawk cannot be closed with empty notes. Enter what was done, then tap Submit again.

  • “Couldn’t resolve this squawk”: nothing has changed. Check your connection and try again. If it keeps failing, reopen the squawk: another admin may have resolved it already.

  • Reopening a resolved squawk is not supported. If the issue recurs, report a fresh squawk that references the original.
