Pilot medical

A pilot medical is the aeromedical certificate issued to a pilot by a UK CAA / EASA-approved aeromedical examiner. It records that the pilot is medically fit to fly to a particular standard (Class 1, Class 2, LAPL, PMD) and carries an expiry date.

In Syndik8, the medical is special-category health data under UK GDPR Article 9. Uploading one is consent-gated: the server requires a current explicit consent record before accepting the file, and the app presents a consent screen before upload. It lives on the pilot’s My documents screen, not in any syndicate library, and is visible only to the pilot. Admins of the pilot’s syndicate(s) see a redacted attention chip showing only the fact of upload and the expiry date; they never see the certificate file, the medical class, or any clinical detail.

In the app: Settings → My documents → Medical. See Pilot documents and Medical consent.
