Maintenance item

A maintenance item is a scheduled task tracked against a single asset, such as an annual inspection, a 50-hour check, an ARC renewal, or an oil change. Each item records its name, its interval, when it was last completed, and its calculated due point.

Intervals are expressed in hours (usage-based) or days (calendar-based). The item’s status (OK, Approaching, Due Soon, Overdue, or Completed) is computed from how much interval remains.

An item that is overdue grounds the asset. See airworthiness for the full set of airworthiness rules. Items can be one-off or recurring; when a recurring item is completed, logging the completion resets the interval so the next due point is recalculated.
