Maintenance item
A maintenance item is a scheduled task tracked against a single asset, such as an annual inspection, a 50-hour check, an ARC renewal, or an oil change. Each item records its name, its interval, when it was last completed, and its calculated due point.
Intervals are expressed as a usage measure — hours or cycles — or a calendar length — days, months or years. A usage-based item also names the measure it counts against — flying hours, the syndicate’s engine meter, or landings — because “every 50 hours” means different amounts of aircraft depending on which clock is running. The item’s status (OK, Approaching, Due Soon, Overdue, or Completed) is computed from how much of that measure remains.

Signing a completion off can also schedule the item’s next occurrence. Syndik8 works out the next due point — a calendar item keeps its anniversary, a usage item counts from the reading at completion — and offers it, already filled in and editable; declining leaves the item simply Completed, as it always did.
