Syndicate shell tabs

What it is

The syndicate shell is the tabbed container you see after you open a syndicate. It is scoped to one syndicate at a time — everything you see on its tabs belongs to the syndicate whose ID is in the URL.

The Dashboard’s Maintenance & Squawks card checks maintenance across all active aircraft as well as outstanding squawks. An overdue check shows a warning even when there are no squawks. All OK appears only after both checks have loaded and the device’s initial sync has arrived. A failed check offers Retry instead.

Who can use it

Every member of a syndicate can open it. Which tabs appear, and what they show, depends on role:

• Admin sees five tabs, including Admin, plus the pending-actions icon in the top bar.
• Member sees four tabs: the same set without Admin, and without the pending-actions icon or other admin-only actions.
• Viewer sees the member’s four tabs read-only: no book button, no report-a-squawk button.

Where to find it

Tap or click a syndicate card from the Home tab, or open the route directly: /syndicates/{syndicateId}.

On a narrow viewport the tabs render as a bottom navigation bar. On wider viewports they render as a navigation rail on the left. See Adaptive layouts.

Fields / options

The tabs always come in this order.

Label	Who sees it	What it shows
Dashboard	Everyone	Syndicate overview: the asset header card, your Next Booking (your next flight: a maintenance booking you made is passed over for the flight after it), your quick stats (the Members figure counts people who have joined; while invitations are outstanding it adds a line such as +1 invited), recent activity, and dashboard cards linking to balance, fairness, bookings, squawks, and settings. The My Balance card shows your balance as the balance screen does: what is due as £X due (the word due small, after the figure), or with In credit or Settled above the figure, and Credit, Pending and Not due yet lines beneath when they apply, and a line for expense claims waiting for approval (see The same figure everywhere). Members reach the member list from its My Syndicate card, and their own Direct Debit from Manage Direct Debit on the same card when the syndicate collects by Direct Debit.
Calendar	Everyone	The month / week / day calendar for this syndicate’s bookings. The day view is a Gantt-style timeline showing all assets as rows. Events render alongside bookings. See Views and time scales.
Assets / Asset	Everyone	The asset list (grid on three-or-more assets, list on one or two, and always a list at large text sizes). The label is singular when the syndicate has exactly one asset, plural otherwise. Admins see an add-asset floating action button.
Admin	Admins only	The admin hub: the Pending page, members, votes, money and syndicate settings. See Admin tab: overview.
Profile	Everyone	The same Profile screen as the home shell, embedded here so you can get to your account without leaving the syndicate.

The syndicate app bar also carries:

• A back arrow to the home shell.
• The syndicate name, with an edit pencil beside it for admins.
• For admins only, a pending-actions icon. Its badge shows one combined count of everything waiting on an admin (squawks to confirm, bookings to approve, bookings that need attention, expenses, and bookings to finalise) and is hidden when nothing is waiting. The icon opens the Admin Pending page.

Behaviour rules

• The tab bar is always visible once a syndicate is open — there is no “hide navigation” mode.
• The Dashboard tab is the default when you open a syndicate. An admin can make Admin their default landing tab instead.
• The Calendar tab is rendered by CalendarTab and lives only inside the syndicate shell. There is no standalone calendar screen.
• The Profile tab’s contents and connection-state dot mirror the home shell’s Profile tab — they are the same screen rendered in an embedded mode.
• Switching tabs preserves scroll position and in-tab state.
• The Assets tab renames itself to “Asset” when the syndicate has exactly one asset. This is cosmetic only — the tab does the same thing.
• There is no Members tab. Admins reach the member list from Admin → Members; members reach it from the My Syndicate card on the Dashboard.
