Accept an invite
Join a syndicate from an invitation.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need the invitation: either an email from Syndik8 or a link shared by an admin. The link ends in a long code (a string of around 32 lowercase letters and digits), for example
https://app.syndik8.app/invite/3f9c1a7e0b6d4852a1c9e7f2b8d05a34. - An invitation has an expiry date (up to 30 days from when it was generated) and can only be used once.
If you don’t have a Syndik8 account yet
Section titled “If you don’t have a Syndik8 account yet”- Open the invitation link in a browser or tap it in the email. The Invitation screen shows which syndicate you have been invited to.
- Tap Create Account. The sign-up form opens; the invitation is remembered.
- Complete sign-up with your email and a password of at least 8 characters.
- Confirm your email by clicking the link in the confirmation email Syndik8 sends you.
- After you sign in for the first time, the invitation is applied automatically and you land on the syndicate. This automatic step only happens for an invitation sent to your email address. If you were given a shared link rather than an emailed invitation, open that link again after signing in and tap Accept Invitation.
If you already have a Syndik8 account
Section titled “If you already have a Syndik8 account”- Open the invitation link. The Invitation screen previews the syndicate, your role, and (if it’s an equity invitation) the number of shares reserved for you.
- If you’re not signed in, tap Sign In. After signing in, you’re returned to the same invitation screen.
- Review the details under You will join as: role and (for equity invitations) the share count.
- Tap Accept Invitation. You’re taken to the home screen and the new syndicate appears in your list.
If you change your mind, tap Decline instead. The invitation is left untouched, so a fresh link or a new invitation from an admin will still work later.
If it goes wrong
Section titled “If it goes wrong”- “Invitation Expired”. The link is past its expiry date. Ask the person who invited you to generate a fresh one.
- “Already Used”. Someone has already accepted with this link, or you accepted it previously and the new invitation got re-shared by mistake. Ask for a new invitation.
- “You’ve been added!” when you open the link. The invitation was matched to your account automatically on sign-in. Tap Go to Syndicate to visit it.
- An “Invite not found” panel appears. The app couldn’t match the code, usually because characters were dropped when the link was copied, or because the invitation has since been withdrawn. The panel has a Retry button; tapping it re-checks the same code, which helps if the problem was a dropped connection rather than a bad link. If it keeps failing, ask for the invitation to be re-shared.
