Recover from a payment failure
Update your payment details and clear a past-due subscription so the syndicate does not slip into read-only mode.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You must be an admin. Any admin can update payment details.
- You have up to 14 days from the first failed attempt before the syndicate becomes read-only. The grace window is red for the first 7 days, then amber for 7 more.
- The exact timeline and what read-only blocks is listed on grace period and read-only.
- Read access is never revoked at any stage. You can always open bookings, usage logs, and financial history.
- On a desktop or laptop browser, sign in at syndik8.app and open the affected syndicate.
- Open the syndicate and go to the Admin tab, then tap Subscription. The plan card shows the status (Past Due, Unpaid, or Cancelled) in red.
- Tap Open hosted billing portal. A secure checkout portal opens in a new browser tab.
- On the portal, update your card or payment method and retry the failed charge. Follow the portal’s prompts to confirm.
- Return to the app. When the retry succeeds, the syndicate returns to full read and write immediately. The Past Due banner disappears.
If it goes wrong
Section titled “If it goes wrong”- You are on mobile. The Subscription settings screen on iOS and Android is read-only and cannot update payment details. Use a desktop or laptop browser.
- The grace period expired before you fixed it. The syndicate is now read-only. The recovery path is the same: open the portal and complete the payment. Read-write access restores the moment the payment clears.
- You can’t get the card to work. The portal handles the card details; Syndik8 does not. If the portal rejects the card repeatedly, try a different card or bank. Syndik8 support cannot see or adjust card details.
- The subscription has been cancelled outright. Resubscribe from the same screen using the Upgrade button. See upgrade from free to paid if the syndicate has dropped back to the free tier.
