Role
A role is what kind of participant a member is in a syndicate. Syndik8 has three roles: admin, member, and viewer. Role is distinct from member rate, which is a financial concept: the same person might be an “admin” (role) on the “renter” (rate).
Role decides what someone can do: admins manage the syndicate; members book, log usage, submit expenses; viewers see but cannot change anything. Every member of a syndicate has exactly one role. There is no owner role; ownership is expressed through shares.
Role names appear lowercase in prose (admin, member, viewer), capitalised only when they are UI labels. “Renter” is not a role; it is a rate label.
