Use home-screen shortcuts
The Syndik8 app icon carries shortcuts to the things you do most. Touch and hold the icon to jump straight in, skipping the home screen.
Open the shortcuts
Section titled “Open the shortcuts”- iOS: touch and hold the Syndik8 app icon until the menu appears.
- Android: touch and hold the app icon and the shortcuts appear above it.
The shortcuts

| I’m flying now | Opens Quick Capture for your current booking, so you can record start readings on the ramp. A maintenance booking is never picked: a ferry flight or ground run is logged from the maintenance booking itself (see Log a ground run or ferry flight). |

Book now and Pay my balance use the syndicate you have open in the app. If you belong to one syndicate they use it straight after you sign in. If you belong to several and have not picked one, they appear once you open a syndicate or set a default syndicate.
Tap a shortcut and the app opens on that screen. If you are not signed in, the app opens to sign-in first and then continues to the shortcut.
When the aircraft is already booked
Section titled “When the aircraft is already booked”Book now proposes an hour starting 5 minutes from now, and checks that hour before it opens anything:
- One aircraft, already booked: the calendar opens on this week, so you can see when it is next free.
- Several aircraft, all booked: the calendar opens on today in day view, with a row for each aircraft.
- Otherwise: a new booking opens on a free aircraft. Airworthy aircraft come first, then any whose status the app cannot tell yet, then grounded ones. From the first of those groups that has a free aircraft, it picks the aircraft selected on the calendar (at first, the one you booked most recently) if it is there, and otherwise the first by name. You can pick a different aircraft before you confirm.
The calendar stays in week or day view afterwards until you change it or close the app.
Only confirmed bookings count, the same ones the booking form warns you about. A tentative hold does not stop you booking. When the app has not been able to download your bookings since it opened (for example with no signal), or cannot check them within a few seconds, Book now opens a new booking as usual, and the booking form warns you if the time is taken.
