Change your subscription
Adjust a paid subscription: change billing period, change the number of aircraft, or cancel at the end of the current period.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You must be an admin. Any admin of the syndicate can change the subscription.
- The Syndik8 app shows your current plan and status but does not host the payment controls. Changes are made on a secure checkout portal opened from the app.
- Pricing scales per aircraft and follows the rules on pricing. Founding pricing keeps its 50% discount if you change period or aircraft count mid-lock.
Steps (web)
Section titled “Steps (web)”- Open the syndicate and go to the Admin tab, then tap Subscription.
- Review the Plan card (Free plan, Standard plan, or Founding rate) and the current period shown below it.
- Tap Open hosted billing portal. The portal opens in a new browser tab.
- In the portal, change what you need: billing period, payment method, aircraft quantity, or cancel the plan. Save your changes on the portal.
- Return to the app. The Subscription settings screen refreshes to show the new state shortly after the change syncs back.
Steps (iOS and Android)
Section titled “Steps (iOS and Android)”The subscription settings screen on mobile is read-only. It shows the current plan, status, billing period, and aircraft count, but has no controls.
- Open the Admin tab and tap Subscription on your phone to confirm your current plan and renewal date.
- Open a desktop or laptop browser and sign in at syndik8.app.
- Follow the web steps above.
Changes you make on the web take effect everywhere. Your phone picks up the new plan the next time it syncs.
Common changes
Section titled “Common changes”- Switch from monthly to annual (or back). Ten months of monthly equals one year of annual, so annual billing saves two months over twelve months of monthly. Founding subscriptions keep the 50% discount after the switch.
- Add or remove aircraft from the plan. Pricing is per aircraft. Mid-period changes are handled by the billing portal; the amount at the next billing date reflects the new count.
- Cancel at period end. Cancelling on the portal sets the subscription to end at the close of the current billing period. The Subscription settings screen shows a red banner with the end date. Until that date, the syndicate keeps full paid-tier access.
- Stop cancellation. Reopen the portal and re-enable the subscription before the end date. The banner goes away.
If it goes wrong
Section titled “If it goes wrong”- The Open hosted billing portal button doesn’t open the portal. Check that pop-ups are not blocked for syndik8.app, then try again. Your existing plan continues unchanged while the portal is closed.
- A cancellation takes the syndicate over the free-tier limits. When the period ends, the syndicate enters read-only rather than being cut off. See grace period and read-only. Bring the syndicate within the free-tier limits or resubscribe from the web.
