Record your medical expiry date
Record the expiry date of your medical without uploading the certificate. The expiry date is all Syndik8 ever needs: it drives your renewal reminders and the currency chip your syndicate’s admins see. Nothing about the certificate itself is stored anywhere.
If you also want the certificate available on your own devices, including offline, upload it instead; you can switch to that at any time.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Information about your medical, including its expiry date, is special-category health data under UK GDPR Article 9. Syndik8 stores it on the basis of your explicit consent (see Medical consent). The first time you record a medical you’ll be shown a consent screen; you can decline and nothing is stored.
- You need the expiry date from the certificate. That is the only input.
- You don’t need to be an admin of any syndicate. Pilot documents are personal.
- Open Settings, then under Pilot documents tap My licences and medicals.
- On the Medical tile tap Record expiry date.
- (First-time only.) The Medical consent screen opens, worded for what you are actually doing: storing only the expiry date, no certificate. Read it. If you agree, tap Accept. If you tap Decline, nothing is stored and you return to My documents.
- Pick the Expiry date from the calendar. This is the expiry printed on your medical.
- Tap Save.
You’ll see a “Medical expiry date saved.” snackbar. The Medical tile now shows the expiry with an expiry-coloured chip, plus a “Certificate not uploaded” line so it is always clear no file is on your device.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- You’ll get a reminder in your notifications at 60, 30, and 7 days before expiry, and again on the day it lapses; identical to a filed medical. See Document expiry alerts.
- Admins of every syndicate you’re currently in see “Medical · expires {your date}” on their members tab, exactly as they would for an uploaded certificate. They cannot tell the difference; the certificate is never part of what they see either way.
Renewing
Section titled “Renewing”When you renew your medical, record the new date the same way. Your existing record is updated in place.
Adding the certificate later
Section titled “Adding the certificate later”Open your medical from the tile and tap Upload certificate in the viewer. Your expiry date and consent carry over; only the file is added.
Removing it
Section titled “Removing it”Open your medical and tap Delete. For a date-only record the only outcome is Delete everything: the expiry date and your consent record are removed, and your admins stop seeing a medical for you.
